NINA FAIRCHILD LOVILL, OIL PAINTER

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Pikeville, Ky., Nina Fairchild Lovill grew up spending summers in the Eastern Kentucky Mountains.  Those summers made a profound difference in her life, the connection to those hills has never left her, and is evident in the patterns and textures of her paintings.  The mountains was a much different setting from living in Lisle, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, where she spent the first fourteen years of her life, before moving to Ocala, Florida.

Nina F. Lovill graduated from Berea College with a B.A. in Art.  She has post-graduate hours from UF, UCF, and Florida Southern.  She has studied at Savannah College of Art and Design in their summer teacher forums, taken workshops at the University of North Florida, Sumter Community College under Dr. Rata and Central Florida Community College under master painter and teacher, Jack Thursby who became her mentor.  She has been an adjunct professor for the University of South Florida and is presently Visual Arts Director for the Marion County Center for the Arts, a magnet high school for the visual and performing arts located at West Port High School in Ocala, Florida.
